Did mine a couple of weeks ago, I guess it was sent off with the log book as this was also registering as historic vehicle for tax status. But essentially, take form to post office Sent from my EML-L29 using Tapatalk
I did mine online today, there is a tick the box declaration on the finish page, no need to go to the post office or use a form.
I remember back awhile there was a post about an over zealous police officer Who stopped a van And said get it all fixed or I will do you for everything that I can . Give it a few years and there will a few running around in an unroadworthy state And one sunny summer day the Police will have a campaign at the side of the A30 as you chug down to Cornwall To catch the ones held together with duck tape and zip ties and impound Your van Another DVLA master plan On the upside there might be lots of usable spares around
Has to have an mot if it’s less than 40 years old if it’s 40 or old it doesn’t because altogether now ............it’s exempt
The DVLA website says that if your vehicle is registered as Historic Tax Exempt, you do not need to separately declare it as MOT exempt. I assume the tax exemption automatically triggers the MOT exemption?
i had to tick a tax exempt box when i was taxing the camper online. when it came to the bug, there was no box. called dvla and they told me to take in the form when the tax is due (september). I suspect the system wasn't quite ready for the change and that's why folk were/are getting different responses.
At the same time, it said your vehicle is over 40yrs old is it eligable for mot exemption, then there is an option which takes you to a list of exemptions, you dont have to go to that, there is a box to click that says my vehicle is eligable to be exempt then you click done and you are your taxed as well.
When I had a rear tyre blow out on the way to Techenders last year, the AA turned up without an issue to my MOT exempt and without MOT camper.
