Well if you’re gonna live in the sun, you should open a little taverna in Greece. At least we could drive there for our discounted ouzo and dolmades
I agree - enough of this Anglo-Saxon obsession with hard work 'till you drop and die - it might have got us an Empire, but that's all done and dusted now., so its getting out and enjoying the sun for me now, rather than spend 2 weeks a year watching other people do it!
I bet you won't find many in Cape Verde doing a 3 hour commuting round trip on an overcrowded train to sit at a desk for 10 hours. Ok, there aren't any trains and you could walk across the islands in three hours, but that spoils my opinion....
I went all the way to Australia and visited freemantle prison . It was the guides first day back at work having visited Wakefield prison . She stayed in a hotel 2 doors a way from my house whilst in England.
Apparently the saying on Boa Vista is ‘no stress’, perfect as this was what this winter break was about for me; No bullMarmite, no politics, no other people’s desperate dramas, no stress
Last walk on the beach inhaling all the negative ions this morning. There were lots of them from the crashing waves. Not seen crossy this morning to say ‘goodbye’ but there were police out last night...
The airport check-in and departure is a bit sketchy, definitely of the no-stress variety. Don't be surprised if the check in desks (1, maybe 2) are chaotic, or suddenly close, but you might on the last departure of the day so it all kind of closes around you !!
I liked the chilled vibe when we arrived. Lots of folks didn’t, unless it was a serious case of collective resting bitch face... hate to see what they’re going to look like leaving! Eek. Or maybe it’s just a Manchester thing
