Been in tears last 2 days. Sent my van for a cheap spray job and it's come back damaged.

  2. I'm insured with HIC but because I wasn't the last person to drive the van they said I cannot claim through my own insurance.

  7. WHAT? That is awful. Vans are not covered by our insurance when they are in the hands of a recovery company or garage?

  10. Your insurers have said you cannot make a claim with them, which does sound fishy, you should ask them for their reasons for refusal and challenge them if you feel their reasons are wrong. I still feel the best way forward is to be business like and speak to the body shop and explain why you are not satisfied with their paint job. Did you have a written agreement? Identify and list and take photos of the vehicle damage and speak to the tow truck company about it. Be firm, state your disappointment, but don't argue with the two firms. Record what they have said to you. If they upset you, tell them they are upsetting you and walk away.

Maybe at some stage you would need to get the parts/repairs to the van, costed, so you know the value of the damage, in the event you make a future claim.

What exactly was the agreement with the “painter”?
That looks like a sh1te job. Is that a whole load of runs in the paint?
Was the roof painted with a yard brush?

If it was £500 then painting over it would be acceptable

  17. It looks like when they said a quick blow over that is exactly what they meant, dirt, holes, dents. Cowboys of the first degree. I guess they recommended the transport company ? Same crap ??

  18. Looks to me like the paint has reacted badly and the fact he clearly painted it with his eyes closed while using a cuprinol pump spray.
