We had some put down by the mighty John Lewis. They had to come back and redo some of it because we could make out a line where the sheets of ply they laid underneath met.
We got the hall done and the fellas were walking out with boxes of stuff we had paid for.. so liberated the surplus along with a half bucket of Amtico floor tile adhesive from them.. just laid itontop of a single piece of 10mm ply..
They should have still used leveller really bern , as it’s a potential stress point ? The chap that did ours insisted on using leveller !
Yeh tough old stuff init , believe or not we had a wall cupboard fall off last year bounced of the work tops and hit floor with a massive crash full of glasses n stuff and missed me by inches no damage to floor atall . Nearly finished me off thou I thought a plane had landed on us . Close one
The thing is you can’t just slap more latex down on some areas and not others. It needs to be a uniform depth within reason. So if you’ve got areas with chunks of tile missing, even though the latex will smooth it out you will see a dip or a raised area in the finished floor unless you are very careful
