Deep pockets required but there's always some from the bloke in Wales who's name eludes me at the moment... I'll post it when I find my marbles !! Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
How bad are yours? Reskinning is starting to become a economical option Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've been quoted £500 each for some doors that are less rusty than these but aren't rust free (from FBIVW in fact).
I know a bloke with 2 new ones, non swage line. He was selling locally for £1100 they had a couple of knocks from keep moving them to different storage places.
They're not that bad - a good fabricator should have those tip-top in a couple of days . If they're solid on the bottom corners you've got a pretty straight forward repair .. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
I’ve had 3 quotes for restoration work to my van and all 3 have told me to get new doors. Can anyone recommend someone to repair my doors instead? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Womball is volunteering! I hear he takes Beetle parts in exchange for labour. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I could recommend the fella that did mine , superb job but the arches were fitted badly by someone else about 10 years ago so not a as good a fit as i`d imagined but not that bad !! Unfotunatley he`s moving workshops and is snowed under with work , both his own projects and customer work so it`ll probably be the middle of next year before he has time to even consider taking on other jobs , however small . Ye resto shoppes won`t be interested because repairs can be time consuming and less cost effective than good imported doors , simple as that . Having seen the pics of your van i`d be tempted to take it off the road over winter and get stuck in - assuming you have the space and inclination . First thing to do is remove the belly pans and see what lies within - the rest of the underside looks pretty good so you might be lucky
