One week to go ... Been training with a buddy who has a 6500 pound bike electric gear change, wafer thin tyres, made to measure and still beat him up the hills Today I reinstalled all my gears (winter training only use one gear )and the bike flew ... I did go to the Loire valley in the camper and leaked oil like a sieve, looked like a rusted pushrod tube ,fixed it with a couple of clips and a bit of metal Watch out on le tour for moi Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well it all went a bit Pete tong ! The week I was due to go I had to go to bludi Norfolk ! Surprisingly enough I did 240 km on the bike while I was there (4 days) the traffic was awful (for a pushbike) .. Anyway set off soon as I got back That nearly killed me it was awful That was better I decided to go into Spain and walk a bit of the compastella, but found this on the border.. The main one from Spain I wanted to do was this ,I clocked up 50km up and down ...the lakes were amazing... I then wanted to do a day trip of three hills, the third one been the highest I was hanging I was having a few family problems,so on the way home I did a lovely scenic tour.. The T25 went 1228 km faultless miles ,my handlebars snapped in half (over a wall) nearly hit a sheep doing 62 km down a hill and walking a couple of days my feet loved been back on the bike ! Hope "life" doesn't get in the way next year Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
because I missed le tour this year i've convinced the wife I should go see the vuelta (tour de spain) I'm a little bit excited.... More pictures to follow...
Excellent. You luck lucky etc... Will have to see what coverage if any there is on telly. I don’t have sky sports or any of that kind of thing so will probably have to catch highlights on YouTube like I did with the Giro.
You should stRt getting patches like cubs of all the different Cols that you’ve cycled and sew them on your t shirt
Well this year I hit the big 60 .. So I'm heading back to the pyraneese to see if this old lad still has it in him The T25 now has historical status so see if that makes it as well, looking forwards to training, the Lot region has a lot more hills than where i used to live, so i might be fitter This hill i sprinted up last year Sent from my ART-L29 using Tapatalk
Excellent stuff Mick. I’m still cycling 20 -30 miles one day over the weekends. Would love to cycle in the Pyrenees!
Can't beat getting out on ya bike. Been fighting poor health recently and a trapped nerve this week. I was meant to be having a go on a Velodrome on Sunday, I'll have to rebook. I'll let know if it's fun, or not. Might even get up a few decent hills this year, not on the continent though.
. I hadn’t seen this reinstated until I’d reply on your tour thread Mick! It was these photos I remembered from all those years ago! You could sell wine to Tour tourists from outside your gate
Slightly pointless… but great fun. Would never get up a hill! I’ve since put a new barrel & piston, sports exhaust & larger jet. Grand speed of around 24mph on the flat.
Came a bit early, snow is still in a lot of places.. This is pictures of my second stop luz Ardiden the famous hairpin road, deserted how i like it I rode up it this morning and there was one or two cars/cyclist s, i thought a ideal stop.. Btw the ride nearly killed me, I'm not 18 anymore Sent from my ART-L29 using Tapatalk
