Ive this job to do at some point. I bought new seals but wasn’t sure if pistons needed changing. Need to check my Bentley book but is it a case of seeing if they move freely and replacing if they’re stuck? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Here you go: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FRONT-Br...600506?hash=item41cc212cfa:g:ZkkAAOSwY45URSOS you might need to clean your Caliper up a bit more, it looks like ATE (if so, it says it on the back) Girling has a big G on front. Have you got a photo from the other side?
Yep exactly that, when you do the seals you’ll see how free the pistons are and if they are corroded around the circumference of each one. It’s quite easy to do, I found
Thank you. Van still in hibernation but will be out in a couple of weeks so I’ll have a good look then.
Another box ticked. One rebuilt axle. New wheel bearings fitted, greased up etc. Brake caliper rebuilt new kunifer brake line fitted brakes bled Back on four wheels tomorrow and clean up time (again)
Well, things have moved quick this past week, paint has been applied Last week when I last saw Major he was rubbed down ready for etch primer and high build primer Went up on Monday & the bodywork had been etched, high build primed, flatted back with a thin final coat of high build over a couple of bits which needed stopper filling I mentioned last night we had put a first coat of colour on Today was my Dad's rest day, he comes into work with us for a few days a week, the weather was really nice in their village so he set to. its had two more coats of colour, a thin finishing coat and two layers of clear coat. The paint was drying really well, the garage had been heated all night, I'm very pleased with the outcome!
Excellent job. Have you put some stone chip or something similar at the bottom by the front step, it looks tidy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Huge milestone mate! I’m *******ing myself with excitement for when I get this far along. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nice job Mork, looks lovely. @SteadyEddie better off buying Gravitx from Upol. Available in Black, grey or white and again it's overpaintable. Very good stuff. Schutz is ok but gravitex is better imo. http://www.u-pol.com/uk/en-uk/produ...oatings/gravitex-plus-hs-stone-chip-protector
Cool. Plenty of options to choose from then! Unfortunately I’m still a long way off yet but it’s good to keep my shopping list up to speed! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
