Bicycle Day does not, as one might expect, celebrate the ubiquitous two-wheeled mode of transport, beloved of city- and country- dwellers alike the world over. Rather, it celebrates a particular historical event that involves a trip on a bicycle. ‘Trip’ is the operative word here, as Bicycle Day commemorates the first time Dr. Albert Hofmann intentionally took Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) having accidentally discovered it three days previously. Following the deliberate 250mcg dose he started to feel a little odd, so decided to ride his bicycle home. What happened on that trip would lead to LSD becoming a very popular recreational drug – not without its problems though, which is why taking LSD is not a recommended way to celebrate Bicycle Day. Never taken it myself but I believe some song writers may have....
Anytime I may ( or may not ) have ingested acid I wouldn't have been capable of riding a bike. A couple of my favourite psychedelic toons.
Acid certainly would make my bike rides unforgettable trips not yet not mixed the two. Sent from my PLK-L01 using Tapatalk
That's appropriate for once, it's the 20th anniversary of the White Nancy Boys tonight, we will be out riding and getting *******ed, finishing off with a curry at the Viceroy.
I’m at my niece’s confirmation today in Ireland which I am expecting to be a bit of a ‘trippy’ experience. I may get to meet Bishop Brennan.
We were thought in school that if the bishop presents his ring you're supposed to kiss it, I'm not sure if this is still the case
