Not sure what you’re trying to say, the fact is you DO NOT have to tell your insurance and they DO NOT invalidate your insurance for going MOT exempt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The fact is if you don’t need an MOT, you don’t need an MOT. You don’t have to tell your insurer, and it won’t invalidate a claim, assuming it’s road worthy. Exactly the same as if it had an MOT, which is only an inspection at that moment in time. Mine will continue to be MOTd as I don’t get the whole exemption thing. I also don’t get the scaremongering.
All pre 1960 hgv's do well to get the brakes checked on rolling roads as for reasons need not have to explain ....periodically , if some thing happens at least they know you have made the effort . Well i do with mine, and then get a bit of mental satisfaction . Because if VOSA take you up on it and escort you to a testing station and it does not make the grade .....it's execution at dawn
If VOSA pull anyone up regardless of what they drive, regardless of the age of the vehicle, regardless of when it was or wasn’t privately tested and it doesn’t make the grade or is found to be non roadworthy it’s execution at dawn. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My dad has a 1927 Austin Seven he doesn’t have to inform his insurance he is MOT exempt and he doesn’t keep records of maintenance, last year he was involved in an accident which was knock for knock and his insurance company paid him no questions
If people want to get an MOT even though they are exempt then go ahead, I’ve already said my goodbyes to the fellas at the MOT station, no more MOT s for me, why would you need to inform your insurance they should know the new law and if they don’t they can’t be much cop so change to one that does
@crossy2112 its like the government give you a free bus pass when you get to 65 and then you go and catch a bus and pay for the fare
I am, as a pre 1960 was talked about ....all be it a heavier kosh for HGV . Having said that they are thinking of bringing out MOT 's on pre 1960 heavy's ...which you can imagine will create a stir . And paranoia will start ...they want us off the road stinking smokey old diesels, especially if one ploughs into a green party rally. Change of topic here, Thatchers bottled vintage ..christ, you have to drink that with caution
