Welcome to my resto thread ... I have owned my beloved Propex 1600 compact for over 24 hours now, so I thought it was time I restored him to his former glory. He's had at least one couldn't-care-less owner to my knowledge and has been in the wars, with plentyo-rusto and parts missing, but he's mine so he's getting some tlc ..... I WAS going to just hook him up for some diagnostics and them get some quotes from Propex for parts and an overhaul, but these old units are becoming quite rare now with fewer and fewer on the scene so I decided instead to do a back to metal restoration, however long it takes! Any opinions you guys have about things just pitch in ... For example should I go for the rat look? OG red? White over pearlescent black? As for how far he should be lowered, well, I really can't say!! Enjoy (Edit: By the way, this is a tribute not a pxxx-take!)
Now you've set the cat among the pigeons! I don't know ... It just won't sound the same .... You know?
I believe the Empi replacement parts are pants and the cost of a stainless steel exhaust is astronomical.
Don't ask Snotts you will end up painting it gold and sprinkling star dust on it. 2 go faster strips down the side would be good tho'
Your not part of the giraffe brigade are you??? 20 foot off the ground and wallowing around like a turd on a roller skate!
As far as I've heard that would only be for taking it for a night out over the fence ...? ....or is that for Spandex?
I thought I might re-bore the exhaust for that, but it might mean my cam overlocks and I'll have to re run the carb to bypass the filter cage, in which case I might as well go the whole hog and switch to titanium push rods and chocolate sprinkle additives?
All these decisions seem to be confusing you somewhat! I understand that planning a body off resto can be a daunting task! Tell you what i'll take it off your hands free of charge then you need worry no more my friend
