Hello. My first post so I thought I'd start here and introduce my new Bay. I said a sad farewell to my '66 Beetle in order to 'move up the ladder' and realise a long-held dream to get a bus. And here it is. I know from a bit of Googling that a previous owner was on this forum so it might be familiar to a few of you. It's a '73 walkthrough US import and currently has a full-width Rusty Lee bed in the back and a buddy seat but not much else. I do have a real newbie question to ask about interiors (basically, how do people fix their cabinets/seats/curtain rails to the body? I'm nervous about going mad with a drill if there are other ways!) but if that should be asked elsewhere on here then do point me in the right direction. As for me, it's my third aircooled VW but I'm still soaking up as much info as I can and have found lurking on this forum has been really informative. I can't wait to take this bus out on the road and use it! Anyway, here it is:
Welcome, Interesting I thought it looked like Hannah from Montana but the reg is different. http://thelatebay.com/index.php?thr...73-microbus-from-montanna.68600/#post-1293651
It is indeed 'Hannah'! I think on the last page of that thread the seller mentions that the person who created the number plates messed up a digit!
Oh, I thought they were twins, didn't read the whole thread. Has it still got the "busy" carpet in the back?
Haha thankfully that's no more. Here's the interior as it stands. Bit of a blank canvas so I'm looking forward to making it my own...
Here's the Beetle. I will miss it hugely, but I've always wanted a Bay. And thank you to everyone saying hello, it seems a very friendly forum
