https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/263046045422 It's an advert put together by someone who clearly doesn't really want to sell.
my son's neighbour did that with his westfalia, his missus kept on at him to sell it. so he did a poor ad and overpriced it and no takers. so he went back to his missus and said well I tried but no ones interested. He has his van and enjoys it.
@Geordie I'll offer again to write the advert, but I need some basic info Here is my first stab based on what i know so far (not much) 1971 VW camper van Loving restored by XXXX in 20?? 1600cc engine (recently rebuilt? and why) very reliable Right hand drive early bays in this condition are probably as rare as rocking horse Marmitee Westfalia Interior (considered by many to be the ultimate camper conversion) Full width double bed (very comfy and much better for shagging in, than a 3/4 width) Cooker (I've always cooked outside, but cooker is v useful if its raining and to make a morning brew) Sink (Wash you dishes or take a ******* in it if you're desperate during the night - I've never done this and offer a 100% ******* free guarantee) Wardrobe and plenty of storage - think millenium falcon Swing and fold out table that 4? people can eat at, but that doesn't get in the way when not in use Beautifully reupholstered front seats in red - officially the best colour in the world Curtains to stop the morning sun waking you up and to stop twisted pervs looking at you when you are sleeping Danbury? Pop top (makes putting your trousers on a doddle, plus you can stand up for and move around so you don't become the hunchback or notre dame) Electric hook up and internal plug socket (If your partner is reluctant to go camping you can tell them they can take the hair drier, and if you don't want them to come you can just tell them the fuse has gone) Leisure Battery - to power the lights and stereo without flattening the starter battery Numerous security features to help prevent the theft of this beautiful bus - I won't list them on a public website though! Tin cans - so you can make some extra income from driving people to weddings Magical Powers - including the ability to alter the angle of photos you take - hence why most of the photos inside are at a funny angle Propex gas heating - that thing between the rear seat may well be a heater to warm your plumbs on cold nights I'll happily write you a more serious advert if you give me some info.......
@paulcalf You forgot to mention the voodoo doll and You forgot to mention Carin the blowup doll. Appalling Thanks I will take you up on your offer Would have come back sooner just flat out at work I may have sold it polished it up on Saturday loaded it up with about 10 pic nic baskets picked my son up from Tennis match the parked it outside the busiest Pubs in Didsbury village. One couple where over it like a rash and call me on Sunday they love it and find out tomorrow?
@Geordie stop the sale, You can keep your camper and you don't have to sell a kidney, I can get you your first customer. the breath lady is interested http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/a...ing-singles-couples-boyfriend-experience.html
This looks like a good ad. When I sold mine, which was in A1 condition, I found that this type i.e. near perfect £25k vans are not generally bought by technically knowledgeable people. So adverts on TLB , VZI ect don't do much good. Make the advert more lifestyle focussed, refer to the van by name, how much love and attention its had, how as new and reliable it is etc. I sold mine after 3 days just listing on gumtree to a cash buyer 55 year old never had an old vehicle before , never looked underneath etc. My friend (who also is on TLB) did the same with his fully restored bus and again sold straight away to a non VW enthusiast. Aim for the where its the "as new" that appeals rather than those who care what type of ignition its got.
I don't see any decent sale prices on ebay at the moment, just a lot of silly bids for some very nice vans. Ebay seems to attract those with little money looking to get a bargain. Carandclassic and gumtree would be better for your quality van. Look at the other ads on these sites and get a feel for your own ad wording. My neighbour sold his quality golf mk2 on carandclassic for his full asking price within 2 days. I would keep your ad simple and say its a top quality van with excellent paint and no rust and say its got well running engine and nechanicals and its been well looked after. I would say its all there and ready to camp with straightaway. I wouldn't put in any personal stuff about your life with it. buyers are not interested. they want to know how good the van is.
Theres two auction houses interested in it so may just pull the add and try my luck @Baysearcher I'm not telling you the colour unless i can have one of your kidneys
