  1. Hi

Posted the below on eBay last week but no takers. Thought I'd try here where people actually know what they're talking about! I'm based in SE London. If you DM I'll send you an email and we can chat.

    Enjoy the pics!

I am very reluctantly selling my VW camper that I have owned for approx 12 years. Children have grown older and circumstances have changed so I feel I should pass it on to someone who will use it and love it.

This is a 1979 US model Volkswagen with a Westfalia interior. I imported it from Montana in the US and engaged a respected restorer to repair any rust (wheel arches basically, you know the form) and rebuild the engine. The underside was also rust-proofed. The pop up tent was replaced as well. I then had the front seats recovered and Propex electric / gas heating installed. Finally 18 months ago I had the paint completely redone, in it's original Mexico Beige colour. It is completely original apart from the paint, rust, heat and engine rebuild. The sink, cooker, gas tank, fridge are all working. It has a leisure battery, which is charged via a smart split charge relay, and it powers the fridge, stereo and CB radio. All curtains are original. I re-dyed one set to their original colour, but I didn't bother with the right hand side curtains, so they are faded. It has the original front window curtain and child's front cot. As mentioned before the pop top tent is new, but I can't remember if I replaced the foam in the pop bunk. I think I did, but either way the fabric of the mattress is original.

Oh, some things I should add: the laminate on all the furniture is original. I've restored any that has lifted but haven't taken any from other campers to replace bits that I found were missing. I have the original swing table that goes in the main cabin, plus I have the table and leg that goes between the front seats and its original securing bungee to store it behind the driver's seat. If it sells and agreement can be reached then I can include all pots, pans, cutlery etc that live in the camper, if it's wanted. Also I will include the adapter for the LPG / propane tank that runs the cooker and the Propex.

I have more pictures which I can send and of course a personal viewing is good if organised in advance!

  9. another nice van, but no takers on ebay you said. the price seems to be the issue with bays at the moment and maybe yours is just too much to generate interest. just saying. and yes it could do with a good clean up inside after all you are asking top money and scruffy interior says not cared for to me.

  10.

People can see through a bit of grime.
Its difficult to take your advert seriously because you've put sooooo little effort into it!

It's far from top money for a westy Berlin deluxe with all the extras, buddy seat dash clock rear table, re upholstered, no rust , new roof canvas, it's ready to go, very nice van at a sensible price

  14. Sorry to be neggy and all that, but for that money at least clean the interior ....carpets, sink and splash back. Then remove all the junk:thumbsup: its the little things that help;);)
