Fitting solar from scratch

  1. So it's time to move on with the times !!
As u all know I'm off for 3 weeks over Spain and France and electric hook ups are pricey so for just under £250 iv got
-100watt semi flexible solar panel (weighs 1.9kg)
-mppt 20amp controller (have read a lot of good things about this type on YouTube)
-Ebox wifi (sends all data to my phone so everything can be hidden out of site)
    -5m x 4mm exstenion cable (mc4 conectors)

Shall do a detailed write up for others as it's a pretty simple job that could really improve ur camping and never need electric hook up again !!!!
I ordered this all Tuesday and it's all here today as I used all uk suppliers after looking at feedback from cheaper over seas !! [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
Hope Roger home from work tomorrow and get it temporary working then make all wiring look pretty

When you stick it on the roof, see if you can leave enough space for a second panel, just in case you decide to upgrade later, which would be easy enough as your controller will take 2 x 100 w panels.

  3. Don't forget to remove any plastic film on the back of the panel

  6. How deep is that box on back of panel ? Will it sit in your roof ribs?

  7. Do they say it will pull in enough power on overcast/rainy days and during autumn winter time when the sun is in another country apart from the uk?

  18. Oh definitely, I know it would be really useful for me just for a long weekend (3/4 days) as it would protect the battery :)

  20. Little update .....
At lunch today I had an old draw front (same wood as my interior which I'll mound inside wardrobe)
And mounted controller and wifi box to and drilled holes to feed wiring through as I hate having wires showing anywhere !! Also got some stuff to stick panel down we use alot at work

This stuff does exactly what it's says !!!
