So it moves fully at pedal but the little lever gearbox end only moves a little bit then has the bracket snapped or pull cabel and cheack it first sounds like it might just be some strands left and stretching at a chance
That looks right in the first picture wrong in the second. The cable is stretched or the bracket holding the Bowden tube has lost a bolt!
At the other end of the Bowden tube? Not sure; I've had to jack it in for now as the Mrs has got the 'ump that I'm just back from Techenders and under the van again....
Take a look at the solid conduit welded to the rear torsion bar tube. Has it come adrift? PS That is very little cable travel...
I'll take the under pedal tray off and have a look that end tomorrow; and also have a look at the Bowden tube. I seem to remember it used to have a lot more travel than it has now. If anyone gets the chance can you have a look how much travel you get on your clutch arm? Cheers
Yes that end. The bodge was to put washers there in between the end of the tube and the bracket. It was a a get you home fix, but it highers the pedal and feels crud. Get it sorted properly!
Give the nut a couple of turns at the gearbox end and see what it's like. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
when my clutch 'went' the solid conduit welded to the rear torsion had broken & one of the two bolts holding the arm to the gearbox had sheared off
I had washers there for years but when the clutch started slipping I used those nuts to give a bit more travel. Without any washers, the wing nut even tightened to the end of the thread gives zero arm travel.
Seems like the problem is the cable then. Take the belly pan off tomorrow and buy the Mrs some flowers, she may pump the pedal for you if you're lucky. Or you may see it's fubared right away, which will save you a trip to the florist.
Could be the wrong cable I suppose. Are there different ones? I'll have a look tomorrow whilst bored at work!
68/71 - 71/79 the early is the longer I think ( gleamed off reading this site in the past, so not sure )
