afternoon all, Right, engine off I can select all gears no problem. Engine running its a massive effort just to get first. When it goes in it judders like a good on. Any ideas?
Defiantly sounds like clutch probably one of the springs has gone or fingers breaking up so it's not lining up properly or fully disingaging have you still got 'vw box or Subaru gearbox can't remember
Matt struggled to get the gears when he took it for a test drive on Friday, maybe it's time for a Subaru gear box ...... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
As above. Clutch Pressure plate Knackered, if it's gone it usually feels like the engine mounts want to shake out when trying to pull away.
Can do if its a normal vw clutch not heavy duty as your engine is 4 nearly 5 times the power if its done that change to paddel clutch
It might not be your clutch but the thrust bearing has come loose so that it not disingaging properly so its dragging does it still change with engine off
Changes lovely with engine off! How much movement should there be in the clutch arm on the box? It only moves about 30 degrees?
sounds like it could just be clutch pedal adjustment to me mate, tighten the cable a couple of turns and see how it is then. if not i may be able to sort you a subarugears box!!!
I reckon the plate has gone and yes the the way you gun it at times it could go in 5k Doug. Is there any noises like squeals or grating when you press the clutch or beforehand?
30 degrees sounds a bit short but looks like what ever happens its engine out im afraid you could take starter oit and use an endoscope to look in side but still doesn't help fix it
No noises from the pedal. If the cable had gone / stretched would I still get full travel at the pedal end? I thought it wouldn't return as high?
Hmm bizarre. The pedal definitely returns fully but it seems to have really little travel at the other end.
