I bought from a guy who runs Grill n chill VW festival. I viewed the corvair and an original early westy both from dry states . Obviously the bay was 10k still kicking myself for not buying that as well but hey I've something unique. Parts are easy so long as you don't mind import tax and being air cooled easy (I hope) to work on . If I get fixed will try and make it to TE
Rock auto have been a good source also clarks , almost everything can be purchased from clarks . American off the shelf restoration at its best ! http://www.corvair.com/user-cgi/pages.cgi?function=&category=home&dbkey=&level=1
I have a mate with a tuned Corvair in his SWB Buggy. He's had several engines in bits and built his with all the best bits and new stuff shipped direct from the states. I don't know them well myself but they do have separate barrels and pistons and are a lot like a big VW. I can ask him to recommend some contacts if you like?
@V.R.M. Yes please any help would be great. Cheers @paradox It's another project at least this ones rust free
GM arguably made a better job of an aircooler than VW did. Does beg the question why on earth they did it in the first place...
No real Corsair parts suppliers in UK. Clarks Corvair or California Corvairs in US. Corvair Underground service not as good as first two.
There was a great build thread over on vzi a while back of a guy building one of these engines. Always fancied one in a bay but they are heavy and underpowered for a 6 pot.
