I Bought this as a project always liked old American tin and this being aircooled ticked all the boxes! Anyway on its first journey out the flat six became lumpy. So I checked compression 5 cylinders good one cylinder zero! This is the image through spark plug hole , top of piston looks unwell. Does any aircooled gurus know to proceed. Will it need full strip pistons or just head work. As this is an aircooled I thought here is the best think tank for answers. Thanks all Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Corvair. I've a mate in Queensland with a Corvair powered Baja Bug and a mate in Melbourne with on powering his early.
hi as I had these wheels which are 114.3x4 pcd I put them on kind of period correct. The pcd is jap so there's a lot of choices, any ideas are welcomed
weird that they're 4 bolt i'd have said torque thrusts would really suit the age and style but i'm guessing these are only 5 bolt.? quick google shows its possible but maybe a bunch of work to fit

Very nice. Plenty of info on Corvairs on the US websites. They're funny old things. Take the engine out and stick it in your bus!
There was a chap on JK forum, dangerous dave or something like that, had a corvair engine in his bay. He was some kind of aeronautical engineer, rigged the engine up to a lap top in his cab. He spent a morning at Techenders 12 showing me n Mrs Tatty how it all worked. He might as well have been speaking Swahili for all we understood
