  5. Nooooo - sorted yet?

  6. Nah its the starter, heritage boche lasted 2 years, the previous lasted about the same.

  7. I got one of the 'cheapies' mentioned on here a while ago but wasn't happy with it and got my original reconditioned for £20 or so locally and it's been fine since. Can you whack yours with a hammer or bridge across to get it going for now then park only downhill to bump start

  8. Yeah whacked with hammer and shook van in gear and somebody even tried jump starting, cheers

  12. @paulcalf loved your please read on Techenders.co.uk .
If I was an outsider looking at this event, I would certainly think it was exclusive and potentially clicky. So pleased you didn't mention the Doombar on tap

  14. Is it worth asking the mag not to print the entry again?

  15. Good point. I'll contact them

Not sure if there is another issue before TE.

The date is public info though and that is what they have printed

www.techenders.co.uk makes it very clear not to turn up without becoming part of the community, plus that TE isn't for everyone.

  16. @paulcalf I don't think you could have done any more mate to keep everyone happy :hattip:

So you want to promote the weekend but you don't want anyone you may not like.

Does this mean you have to be interviewed before you can go?

Reading this and the comments along with reports from the last events it sounds like a clicky drinking fest.

What ever happened to the chilled out all welcome especially new people working on vans weekend.

I think you've missed the point matty which ultimately is how the site owner prefers the weekend to be conducted.
Why don't you come up & have a beer with us & join the clique ;)

    You've missed the point completely.
It has zero to do with a clique, and zero to do with not wanting new people.
If you'd been, you'd understand the concerns.

I agree to a degree that the "it's not for everyone" bit on the site is a bit "look at what you could have won."

  20. What busmonkey said really. If its an event then it becomes something different, to both the site owner and indeed this forum. Gets complicated with insurance too. Noo noone is sniffy or cliquey. Yes there are a good few of us who know each other but most of us have gone out of our way to get around the buses and introduce ourselves to new people who have perhaps been a bit on the fringe. It can be difficult however to go out of your way, be sociable and help people if youve got your head in the engine bay or similar. For example ive fitted several mains hook up kits to peoples buses over the last few years who id never met before!
