  4. It's looking very much like 'Naughty Corner' will be in operation again this year...certainly on Friday night, and if I can get my pass stamped for Sat then it will be both nights.....@Fugly and @geordieandy will be in attendance, there may be an interloper in a T25 too.....For those that wandered through the mist to huddle by the fire and burn shoes last year, it will hopefully be in the same location! That is all.

A nice steady 5.6% Tyskie would be a good start ...and then onto the 7.3% Old Rosie ...after that you are in Lord Congi territory.:burp:

  10. I think your point may pass a few by. Personally im not happy. I tend not to do overnight vw events for a reason. Its because the scene is full of theiving pikeys and people you really dont want to camp with. Lets hope they give it a miss. This was either a mistake on someones part, in my view, or has unfortunatly been picked up by the "scene".

  11. I totally agree with @Dicky ...

T.E is a bit `underground`, just a few old scrotes sat in a field enjoying a yarn and Eddies hospitality . I go to Volksworld because it`s 10 minutes up the road . I don`t `do` meets or shows but it`s great to put names to faces as i`ve always done my own thing but realised there`s some good folks out there who aren`t really into the `wacky` scene thing ...

Shame if it loses that special feeling - a REAL shame as there`s nothing else like it

I feel that as it clashes with 'Big Bang' at Santa Pod, the "younger element may well go there. My issue is that the kids (15 & 11) want to go camping in the van and have already mentioned wanting to go to Santa Pod, which to be fair I do enjoy going to (I was there on my own at VW Action last year........30 cans of lager in just over 24hrs.....had the wife been there I would have been in sooooooooooooo much trouble).

  15. When the techenders organisers hat changed, I said I would help spread the word.
I listed techenders on a couple of VW event pages and facebook.
It is possible the magazine picked the details up from one of these listings - all they have done is listed the date!

Loads of strangers aren't going to turn up, without engaging on here first off.
No one will read techenders and the date and come without doing more investigating.
Anything anyone reads about TE makes it perfectly clear what type of community/event it is.
It is clear it isn't a VW show.

I've removed the event date from facebook
I can remove the date from the web site and replace it with visit TLB to find out more or don't come if you are a knob

Perhaps I see camper van owners in a different light to others - I was trying to spread the word to other decent camper owners who hadn't come across TLB

What i would like to say is , if great rook of folk turn up would he have the room ?. Secondly would they come again if there was no full bling and trash entertainment .
Would they be happy walking the fosse way , lying upside down under there bus , with several drunken onlookers taking the Hiss ...perfect for me .
Or am i being a miserable git and selfish , and it could turn out to be a really good big gathering .

Techenders in my opinion will never really change, that it won't grow too big or attract too much chaos.

If opening it up "publically" (I.e not to semi-known forum members) is what people want then go for it. I doubt it would continue in its current location though, and certainly not with the level of freedom and access we're currently given. I'd imagine the laid back approach to using certain facilities would have to change.
If that's what people want then make it happen but I'd be out. Its not "owned" by anyone so it can be what people want it to be, but for me part of the pleasure of TE is the laid back (who ever locks their van at TE currently?) atmosphere, and the fact everyone kind of knows everyone else.
I don't do any other "shows" for a reason.

I hope it doesn't change, the informal, relaxed approach makes it more enjoyable
