Dirty Bertie - 74 tin top Camper

  1. Well after a long search I have found project number 2 - The aim is to to a nice mild detailed camper - slightly lowered on spindles and springplates - Banded Steels - whitewalls etc - Loads and loads of detail throughout - Nothing Radical.

  2. Work has begun the driver side cab floor was rotten all now repaired - I have also made some nice chassis legs

Well a little update - I have been busy on him lots of fabrication and welding - all new outriggers inner sill - chassis repairs - all on the drivers side all detailed lots of swaged panels - he has a new set of rims polished fuch rims - drop spindles - adjustable spring plates - whitwall tyres - and I have most of the panels - I hope to fit a new drivers side rear arch sunday and maybe get a little bit painted underneath so he is still underway - pics to come

Sorry for the delay i have been mental busy on other peoples dubs - well where are we with Dirty Bertie - - All of the off side underneath is repaired and detailed inner and outer sills outriggers - Replaced the o/s rear wheel arch repaired all of the window frames - Re skinned the drivers side door skin - Repaired the o/side roof gutter - scripted the tailgate - changed his grille from a late bay to an prototype bay - repaired the lower windscreen frame - Repaired the n/s cab floor - repaired the n/s under wheel arch and detailed - Just finished the outriggers on the n/side -

    If this bus comes out as good as Gladys, it'll be a great project!
     
  7. He will be better than Gladys he is a very subtle resto custom lots more classic detail a 70s throughback

Update finished the underside on the passenger side today all seam sealed and stone chipped - cut out his nasty rear arch and lower rear corner - so light at the end of the tunnel now - just the arch and lower corner and roof / gutter repair and 2 door skins to do he is solid then - just a couple of custom changes and then prep time

  13. 17554373_10211147327151411_1472220414367860676_n.jpg berties cap.jpg bertie arch 3.jpg bertie arch 2.jpg bertie arch 2.jpg A little update with the progress on Bertie - all the underside is now welded - his passenger rear arch is now fitted as is the lower rear corner and the d post - it is now time to start the final rust repair his poorly roof - then back to to the nice little custom trick bits - a little sneek of his new fuel filler cap just one of the tricks to come

  14.   17. Tomorrow i will cut out these nasty little bits on his floor and replace them along with moving his front bumper back tight to the front panel and maybe start his nipple job

  19. Have you made the rear cross piece removable?! Like on a prototype bay.. any chance of your process if you have mate ?
