Haven't seen those in years. :(

  2. I keep thinking getting one for on the boat. Did read a story on the boat form where someone pulled up an old handgranade. Imagine kicking that bad boy off.

  3. I can just image everyone ordering one and half not turning up due to being stuck in the post office vans.

Haha magnet fishing. It's not a hobby, it's a way of life!
Almost weekly I'm pulling something out that I've foolishly dropped in. glasses, keys, tools. Threw me push bike into the marina once in a rage but needed a grappling hook for that embarrassing recovery Searcher.jpg

The sea Searcher! Standard kit lol

Good for when you accidentally nudge the windlass off a swinging lock gate :D
(assuming you use the old steel ones & not the new fangled lightweight aluminium ratchety jobbies)?

Summer sport is 'fishing' around locks after hire boats have been through ;)

  11. Your helmet needs a polish

  12. Your looking at it with the wrong eyes

If I added up the amount of money I've spent over the years
Fishing and metal detecting and hobbies like that I'd never make it back

But being outdoors then spotting something like a stoat snatching a mouse
Then when the float tips to its side and slowly sinks and you wonder what lies beneath taking your bait
Or when you've walked up and down a Claggy ploughed field and your just thinking of packing up for the day
Then you get that special tone through your head phones
    Is it gold or
Your mind wonders what lies beneath

  15. In reality yes
But something in those sort activities of triggers an old hunter gatherer type instinct in us

I'd rather waste money in something that engages me outdoors than
    An x box etc

You were hoping for some of those red plastic lips or a pair of nail clippers weren't you?

  20. I do long mileage on my push bikes, and sometimes just pick a direction and go for a couple of days and quite often, I use canals to get around..l the thinking behind this is it weighs cock all and can slip in my bag and provide a bit of entertainment on the way :0)
