  1. Depends on the underwriter I reckon. Cherished won't always use the same one for every person

    Maybe someone's written one off.

  3. I insured mine through Carole Nash after the install and my premium actually went down.

I've had to renew whilst the work is being done and I have the pickup on a joint policy, so it's worked out really badly. I can cancel the pickup part after tomorrow but I'm going to get slammed with admin fees :(

Only done about 5 miles so far. Stopped for coffee. I'll put some thoughts up later.

  10. With all these great conversions going on there should be a new name for these type of buses. I got 2:confused:

Those are the things I had done on mine, though how are you differentiating on final drive and 4th?

Mine has an extended 3rd and 4th, Bears state the longer 4th is from a sand rail so more straight cut and a bit more whiney.

I'm assuming that's on both sets of gears, as I'm unsure how they mesh. Been fine for the two years they've been in....the fuse box makes a difference though I had mine re loomed which was the biggest benefit after the conversion.

  12. My long 4th is whiney as well - 2,000 to 2,500 rpm. It transmits through something and sounds like it's coming from the driver's side (Left on mine) footwell.

First impressions on 100 mile wet motorway drive home:

Being able to accelerate smoothly to motorway speed on slip-road
Getting out from amongst the lorries to overtake
Feeling that there is masses of spare power
Warmth in cab with 2 fan speeds
    Big smile :D

I found my 5-rib gearbox felt fine, but due to grim weather I was going pretty steady. I probably cruised a bit faster than I normally would have.

    Overall, still going for a 10 :)
