Hello Yes seen it I have just taken delivery of a nos set from America would have been interested in a set tho if that wasn't the case
Based on GRP being far less durable than OG. Just because original ones command massive money doesnt mean you could get away with charging the same for a far less durable version - one little bump and youre going to need a new over-rider. and i didnt mean that to include fittings / rubbers etc. What you've got at the end of the day is four small GRP tubs - not sure if people are going to fork out big money for these. Maybe I'm wrong, I wish this venture all the best - perhaps I'll bring out a vacuum formed version - far less effort. I'll do these for £50 a set of four* *Disclaimer - this will never happen
Of course they're less durable but as they're only for looks that doesn't really matter. The labour that goes into making them is going to be considerably more than £75 a set unless the guy is going to do it as a charitable venture. Imho.
Yes, probably right - but maybe this is why no-one does them at present. Just saying I don't think I'd be up for coughing up £300 for a set - would you?
That's why all the cheap tat for the VW market is made in the Far East. For anything labour intensive, nobody will pay enough for UK wages.
No, but then I gave up buying bits for my bus because other people said they were cool a good few years ago now!
http://www.justkampers.com/211-707-155-b-bumper-over-rider-for-vw-t2-bay-1968-1972.html These ones , they also do the impact rubber but I can do it cheaper
Good price I guess as you also get LB discount so they come in at just under 40 quid but only for early bays so not much use to me Im afraid....
