  1. Nowt local like that round here I'm afraid
I'll have to search one out and try and find a spare day to travel to one
It was the machine at sports direct that said I've high arched feet but the staff in there are no use at all

  3. If you're going to spend decent money on running shoes you want to get fitted properly.

  4. Insoles for the high arches, they usually have a variety at a running shop as well.

You don't have to buy expensive. £40 -£45 ish will get you a decent pair of New Balance or Asics or similar. Got my first pair at Birmingham Runner where they analysed ny gait on their treadmill. Current pair of Asics I got at Intersport after similar gait analysis. Neither cost me that much

  13. Well I've been to the running shop and been assessed on the treadmill
It turns out my lidl trainers are perfectly fine for my feet and he said there's no improvement to be made by him selling me another pair of trainers
The pain in my Achilles' tendons is due to me training to hard to quick
I'm to let them recover then restart training with less intensity, hills and distance.
I was really impressed with the service in the shop and was shocked when they didn't try and sell me anything.
I'll be giving them my business when I do need a new pair of trainers.

  16. Nice one Para, I've also just given up smoking (again). Not easy, is it? I'm 9 days in to cold turkey and have just about stopped being a total depressed grumpy ar5ehole but I still want a roll up.

I won't be joining you for the running, but good on you if you enjoy it. Exercise is good for helping give up the smokes, a few good bike rides have taken my mind off it. I must get down the pool too... Got quite in to swimming last winter but somehow didn't manage to keep the habit up.

    Good luck with those tendons.

It's cross country and I've been running on roads
So if I finish in under 30 mins I'll be a happy chap
