@paradox it appears we have these two in the shed. I've forgotten which one Sarah v occasionally (about the same as me) rode.

You are v welcome to one of them. I will get rid of the cobwebs first :)

  7. First night out running since hurting my groin
It felt great to be back out but Christ it's warm out there.
5k again but I chose a route with some hills this time.

  8. I want to take up running again, I was doing a fair bit in the gym and managed to get up to a hour on the treadmill, whatever that is in km?

I just find running on the street hard work and heavy going and not very enjoyable where I live. But want to progress and not be in a gym.

  9. drive into the country...:D

I lived in Leeds center , but had the canal etc I just ran where it was nice....:hattip:

I run on the country roads around ours. Not too busy and you're out in the countryside which is always a good thing. The missus kindly bought me one of those Garmin watches too. Makes it a lot easier to vary my route and see how far I've gone. Already been said but Park Run is excellent too. A weekly 5K with a good atmosphere, a social thing for many, me, I just turn up, do my run, have a coffee n go home :)

  13. Since 24 hour opening I've no longer got the need to run. Keep at it Para:thumbsup: Make sure you and Mrs Para are caving fit, make a trip of it after your run. Good luck bud.

  14. Did you see the pics of white scar recently after all that rain?
I'm glad I wasent underground at the time
Fitting some caving in at some point in the near future would be great.
I think Mrs para maybe trying to kill me off though
She's found a localish 10k cross country for me to do
The thing is its 4 weeks after the 5k I have entered.

Nice Park Run at Pontefract yesterday. Hadn't run for a couple of months, but took it extra easy, and its a fairly flattish course. Not to be evangelical about Park Run, but it is great, and most definitely not just for serious runners. Sign up, get a bar code, go for a run

It felt more natural tonight and not so hectic
And I was rewarded with a nice sunset at the end

Tis funny that the calories used is aimed at those hoping to burn as many as possible? For Para and me, we're more likely to think "bugger I'll need to eat double dinner or I'll waste away". :D

  19. Well it looks like I'm going to have to invest in some expensive running shoes
My Achilles' tendons are getting quite sore of late and today I've found out ive high arched feet.
I've been looking at Nike air Pegasus trainers.
They seem to be a popular choice for runners with decent reviews.
Does anybody on here run in them?

Go to a proper running shop or go-outdoors if you've got one local. They'll get you to run on a treadmill and video your gait.
This will tell you what type of trainer you need.
I thought it was all mumbo-jumbo but it really did make a difference.
