  1. Mr Fishtrousers, are you really Henry Cole?

  2. Yes and so is my wife.

  3. Proper replacement dealership stickers applied...

From whence did you get the sticker sir? I would like one for my Citroen :)

  5. From Tim/Ruffgeezer, the very bloke you bought your Citroen from.
This forum won't let me post a link because rude words, but search and you will find.
    Or I've got a spare one - £1.75 posted.

  6. Finally got the Shaguar attended to by a specialist.

It is a millionty times smoother than I thought possible and is guaranteed not to blow up for at least a fortnight.

No need for all that milarky just learn to drive it properly in track.
Tuition is a much better investment than car mods.

  8. I am looking on ebay for a nice morris minor, I fancy another classic before I get too old.

  9. Gotta be kidding!! Have you driven a standard mk4 GT-TDi at speed? best thing to do to it is a decent suspension set up at brakes, then will I have confidence for tuition.

You'll still drive it quicker with tuition than you would without it.

@Bernard Fishtrousers i think you should pay an auto Marmitee visit to the iow. Surely auto Marmitee capital of the world!

My friends had a £100 seat Ibiza for a year or so and now have an £85 Nissan almera, new tyre and straight through mot :)

So am I !!!! A nice everyday one, no rot but maybe a bit of tidying needed. I'll try not to outbid you :)

  15. Back in the early 70's I had an almond green traveller, great car but rotted quickly. Moggies are still around and great classics at a modest price. I am looking for a restored car, probably a split screen.

  16. I forgot to respond to that when you posted it - the bargain of the minellium!

    Lots of other exciting* news,

I dropped the magic clicky thing that unlocks the Jaguar's doors and it stopped working.
I asked for advice on another popular motoring forum that I frequent & they advised me to chuck it on the floor again...
    And it worked.

And Scruffy the VW Scarecrow is booked in for an MOT and a carburettor re-jet on Monday.
    WCPGW?

  17. Non aircooled fleet update;

Scruffy the Scarecrow passed its MOT with barely a whimper.
The Jaguar continues its leisurely waftage in much smooth, effortless silence.
And the 944 has gone in to Cavendish Porsche for a new clutch and a replacement gear linkage and torque tube.
First clutch on this only managed 140,000 miles, the second has done a bit better at 170,000
but they are hellish expensive, £585 for the three part clutch kit.
I could have bought another couple of Browns Lane's finest for that sort of money.

  18. 310k on the porker and going strong! Gotta love them!

  19. The clutch job on those is far from simple either I had a 944s2, the clutch went on that and I had niether the time or the ability to get it safely in the air at the time. Even at mates rates the job came in at well over a grand for supply and fit.

  20. I know, the clutch is at the front, but you have to start from the back and remove the gearbox & the torque tube to get to the bloody thing.
Just had a phone call, the new clutch is as rusty as a rocket and another one has been ordered, won't be here until next week leaving the wife in the loan car...
    A Citroen C3 with a broken radio.
