I am getting ready to install my newly built motor in my 1973 Westy and currently cleaning the transmission up before bolting the motor to it. It has an 003 Automatic transmission and the front mount is in two pieces. Is this mount suppose to be like this or has the metal separated from the rubber? If I need a new mount, does anybody know where one could be purchased? Thank you.
Matt, without looking I think the rubber bit goes all around the slot, will have a look later, did you say you are from Ironbridge? if so you could come and have a look under mine to orientate yourself.
I will PM her and see. The link from the other posts shows the later mounts being two pieces it seems, so mine may be ok. I will still ask Wilma. Thank you.
I've just put together a Photobucket album to demonstrate why I'm so intent on finding a mount. Rest of the van is in startling unmolested condition. I feel like Marty McFly who chose a camper rather than a DeLorean. Trying to work out how to post album title rather than specific pic.
Here's the auto parts chap Ron's Transaxle 1009 Broadway Ave, San Pablo, CA 94806, United States +1 510-235-6263 https://g.co/kgs/JL2Gqx
Very grateful tho' - the stock answer is the part is out of stock - but then someone has one in a box somewhere *fingers crossed* Starting a new conversation with story of van <3
@Skcor that's for you then, we emailed amd rang them, Ron was really helpful. We were looking for vacuum thingy and had looked for 5 months before finding this place, part came in 5 days. Good luck
Ring How? His personal details don't incl. a number (unless as is quite likely I don't know where I's looking). I managed to invite Matt Hartfree instead of Matt T to a conversation :$ In my defence I overdid it walking in Dorset yesterday, when out early this morning before coffee and laid under the transit to take a picture of the VW auto gearbox. I'd not be much good at a serious expedition with those homing instincts!
