Nibbled a little bit more of it!! Almost at engine in stage... Just waiting on 2 replacement hose ends for the fuel line... I originally went for 45° fittings, but I need a couple of 90° ends to do the fuel line where it passes through the tin by cylinder 3... One of those you don't know until you have everything built up things!! Also got the majority of the wiring plugged on, so it's a case of getting the ECU and relay box mounted in the engine bay, so I can then hook it all up once the engine is back in!!
Is that good ridge 210 hose and moquip fittings ? If it is I looked at those and Christ they are expensive
PTFE lined hose with a stainless overbraid and a black shieth on that... not aeroquip or moquip... look up a guy called Torques_uk on ebay... fittings come in at half the price!! I've been using him for a few years now
Fuel rail now complete Just got a couple of fittings to get crimped on to the external oil cooler lines (will make future engine removal easier) And then the exhaust can go on
Must be nice working on an almost budget no object build ...throttle bodies (CB ?) look ace as does all it all really ..... I've been shortening and modding my Honda fuel rails this week ,not quite as nice as these but with your tip on fittings I went the normal not super flow route .... How did you join it to the fuel pressure regulator as its barbed ? Regards pressure what sort of fuel pressure are you aiming for ? I'm aiming everything same as the SC mini as those are my injectors ... Loads of questions I know ..sorry
I originally intended to do a build like this myself, but in the end I had to face reality in that I simply don't have the spare time to do it.
Engine all buttoned up and ready to go in Modded the stock muffler so the lambda sensor is in the combined gas flow... Hopefully I got it right, as the muffler configuration was slightly different to the one that I chopped open Next I've got the fun job of tackling the efi wiring...
I've got the MS pdf wiring manual... So it'll be me, a stool, n my laptop... Probably with my phone switched off too
Surprised your using standard exhaust instead of something more exotic /shiney ....nice mod though ....the VS you have choice of either or both ends ....cracking job again
It's fiddly ,I've done most of mine ...but quite satisfying...decent wire strippers and the proper crimpy tool
Interestingly the VS isn't really set up internally for the lambda sensor - Even though it has the bungs... I have made a shiny exhaust for this, but it needs reworking as it's a little on the loud side... plus it needs some internal pipework to match the factory set-up
Paul made me a shiny twin tip 2 years ago, but too loud! This engine is intended to be smooth and easy to drive at lower revs, so the stock exhaust should be fine.
