  3. Nice wheels and nice bus actually!
Any chance to get details on the rims? Tyres are vantra LT 185r14 right?

  4. Love this thread! Cant wait till you detail the body to a mirror finish!

    Yeah hankook vantra's 185 14's
Rims are ronal kleeblatts usually found on Granada mk 1's. I struggled to find a set so bought singles as and when they turned up. Media blasted, powder coated black and then machined back to the ally and lacquered. Wheel bolts were tricky to source too. Getting on for a grand with the tyres and nuts, so not really the cheap alternative choice I first thought but do give a nice period look.. I love them. Still got to find centres which will prob have to wait cos there's loads more important stuff to do first!

haha! It'll be going back to the coach works when it's finally finished for the final polish and then it's all down hill from there once we start using it and the kids are let loose on it! Not going to treasure it too much, but use it to make some memories with the family....

Its been a while since I last posted and ive been mad busy with work although ive managed a few hours here and there...

shoved the old interior in, because it was in the way and more really so we can get an idea of the layout before I start making the new units

wiring needs attention here and there!

    replaced crimps..

ive moved some of the switches for a neater dash and thus have had to modify some of the wiring, but trying to match it all in so it looks factory..maybe a bit tidier!

carried on with scratching the old underseal off and have been really surprised at how solid it is. Just a few rust scabs here and there...

treated any rust with FE-123, then slapped on a good coat of epoxy mastic..

followed by a couple of coats of 2-pack

Spent most of yesterday sorting out what I have and haven't got in the way of an engine...
turns out all the tin ive been collecting over the last couple of years equates to a full set. so off to the media blasters it goes!

ive got a good set of heat exchangers and an exhaust too. Just need to sort the induction side out now...do I go with the standard fuel injection or convert to carbs? id like to stay stock but I don't want to be stuck by the side of the road with a FI problem and not being able to source any spares..
Either way I don't have any FI kit or a decent set of stock carbs. Ive plenty of twin webbers and dellorto's but don't think they'll do me any favours with mpg on a std engine with stock cam..

The new beam bushes arrived from the states so have to get the old ones out with a slide hammer.....resulting in a massive blood-blister!!! new ones push back in along with new needle bearing and the torsion arms are blinking lovely and snug..

Next nightmare is trying to get the old ball-joints out of the torsion arms...nothing new here but the 20T press at the coachworks isn't man enough..so use the method of careful use of grinder and BIG hammer! The 20T press easily knocks the new ones in..
