Have you looked in show us yours? There's lots of inspiration there ( and the threads tend to be shorter than restoration section threads! )

  3. Thanks for the tip. Will take a look.

  7. This thread is very long because its great. I don't know if this has been mentioned so here goes,
engine replace anything that need replacing and have a flue cut off fitted to the old bus.

Not being able to hack more than a weekend in the last one pushed over the edge. The last month would have been pretty grim with no poptop, no sink, no 240v/charger, a postage stamp floor space, small table, silly shaped storage, pita reaching stereo, no 12v sockets, light porous blinds, lightweight summer awning, dim led lights, too firm bed...

Then yes ditching atlas, phone, laptop, camera, all their chargers and a row of books for a smartphone a Kindle and a satnav has saved a lot of space. :)

  9. Also buy some P20 sun cream for the bodywork.

  10. Hopefully the engine is ok as it's quite new. What's a flue cut off? Not sure if it has one.

  11. Haha...factor 50, I'm going to be by the med in August ;-)

  13. Biggest killer of these old buses is fire, flue cut-off switch stops flue from your tank in the sad event off a fire breaking out, it looks like you have a mint engine there, I always try and plan for the worst and hope for the best.

  18. Hi Art B, Thanks!

  19. Hey @Victoria , your plans sound fab, I'm jealous. I'm fairly new here, I've learnt all I know from this forum, which isn't a lot but it's cheap entertainment. Joking aside, I'm amazed at the knowledge of the folk on here, and the willingness to help and advise.

It'll be our first techenders, look forward to meeting you there.
