Bought this as a resto project a few years ago, but enjoying rolling it Ratlook stylee for now... I have raised the back a spline recently as it was getting a bit tiresome dragging the pan over speedbumps.. Handles much better now as well, surprisingly...
I'm liking it! I note the air vents in the fender edges to cool the brake drums, very smart. How did you get the front into the weeds?
Lol... I'm glad you spotted the "air vents" that are cunningly disguised as fecking great rust holes... The front setup is nothing fancy, just lowered on drop spindles and adjustable beam, Smart car tyres. (May go up a size on the tyres though)
Not as much as you would imagine, but yes, they do wear quicker. That was one of the reasons that I got sensible and lifted it up a notch.
Looks good to me. Even at that height it'd still not make it over the speedhumps round here. Stock height cars can catch if you cross them wrong.
I have no idea if he has posted pics of it on here, he came to my house in it and it looked very similar to yours, white, but just as cool. Mine is shiny, but has a slightly bent beam.
Very kind but mine's nothing special. It's not even rat look per se, it's just completely and utterly knackered! Here's a pic of a trip to Wales this year... never broke down, despite the points practically completely closing up. Did spend a good half hour under 5mph over Snowdonia though.
As the wings had got to the stage where they where practically falling apart, I decided to rob the wings off my other bug. I had widened the rears to accommodate 7 inch banded early steels, so had to fit them as well to fill the arch..
