And that is the reason why I'll watch. The old show regurgitated the same formula all the time, it needed a shakeup.
Not sure the BBC or viewers want the same back as it had become so predictable. I guess the latest incarnation will be more informative with fun bits not the let's smash everything up it had become
I saw last night it was going to be chris harris - he's my favorite car journalist so that's great news as far as i'm concerned. With him on board it's going to be a totally different show - if they let him do what he does best it'll be a car programme again, rather than a bunch of old farts doing slapstick with some cars in the background.
If it bares any resemblance to the last series I won't make it through 1 episode. If it doesn't, it might be good.
So every other channel on planet earth has tried and failed to make a world wide smash hit of a car show and failed, it's probably the BBC's biggest ever earner ever. and you think if it's nothing like what was a proven formula it'll be ok
Exactly. It was crap by the end. It used to be brilliant but the last 3 or 4 series were truly unwatchable. Probably why viewing figures went through the floor. BBC made it's money out of how it used to be, not how it became. Simple really.
No, I'm sure it still appeals to a certain section of society, and I'm sure advertisers will want to be involved which is of course all Amazon are interested in. Will I be watching it? Not a chance.
I'm not saying I'll be watching it either coz it had become tiresome ( may have a peek now and then ) I just think the whole thing had ran it's course . but still everybody else's attempts at doing car shows have been abysmal, why is this new top gear gonna be any different, it's not, the games over
I'll try the new proper Top Gear on the BBC. It's got to be better than when those 3 bores presented it. If it's not I won't watch again. Either way it's only a TV show. I won't be watching the Amazon one as it'll be the same old, same old.
Im looking forward to seeing Sabine Schmidt on the new show, for no other reason than she knows how to drive a car to its limits
Her and Chris Harris are both great, both know how to drive, know about cars etc. Not sure about Evans.
Agree, and although i'd watch sabine and chris and enjoy it i think the "mainstream" audience might not .. hence evans..
Im not tbh, he is a good (although there is better) front person, he is just an avid collector who knows a good car when he sees one. I don't know much about Chris Harris. I hope they rejuvenate Top Gear though, great sunday night's TV, its been said by plenty it had gone stale.
Even Top Gear want a piece of the action, Scroll down to the Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato, They get everywhere http://www.topgear.com/car-news/list/here-are-some-zagatos-best-designs
