Who's going to come along for a first camp of the year? We managed to get a TLB area last year and it would be nice to see some new faces and some of the old ones ;)

£5 to camp on the Saturday and then the show is £12. Admittedly, the show is not the best, but it's a chance to blow the winter cobwebs away and get the van out.

We ought to try and get a proper gathering place this year - it doesn't help that there is no phone signal on site.

Ahh you had the email this morning too... I'll be there for the day but no idea on camping depends on how much I've done on van, plus if I have any heating.

  8. I would but cant still :(
Had a great time a few years ago, would have been good to test the heating off hook up.

Love the thread every year for this one. It must be the TLB equivalent to self flagellation? I've not been myself so could someone who's been confirm this is how it goes?

    Leave nice warm home.
Drive X miles through sleet to a cold damp field.
Only one other fule turns up - really late, they had the sense to stop for a pub evening meal.
Spend most of the weekend in conversation with other bod along the lines of "WTF are we doing here?" "I wonder if anyone else will turn up".
Go to bed at 6pm - it's freezing cold and dark, and damp.
Then pay £?? to get into a show, widely regarded as the worst show of the year, to confirm that it's still a disappointment.
    Drive home in the rain.

...then post some pics and discover that you were camped 20ft from another TLBer that you'd have loved to meet. :D

    You're tempted aren't you

  13. That's pretty spot on to be honest @zed :)

Think we did go to bed after 11ish though after @Flakey and @bernjb56 finally succumbed to the mixture of skunk and gas from my cooker

We had a really good one in 2011 or 12 with a club stand and a big turnout but it's gone downhill attendance wise since

    Who wouldn't be!
I'm down for camping in a layby on the M6 contra-flow through Birmingham that weekend though - I think I'll stick with that.

I go cos it's local and kills a few hours on a wet crappy winter weekend plus this time I can look at crappy t shirts with t5 on to replace my crappy t shirts with bays on

I've never been tempted to a local show because there aren't any, so I can't honestly say I wouldn't be tempted. :)

Sometimes they have some good second hand parts TBH , i got two really good original heat exchangers for my type 4 one was a new unused for £70 .
I did notice that the originals are way heavier then the repro's
