I've got a German friend who could do searches in German for you if you explained what you are looking for. That may help?

I saw the thread title and thought another person had seen the future.

  4. Going to be an interesting thread, but please rename it. I thought we were talking about builders vans and almost ignored it!!

  5. Are you going to flow the heads?

I have no idea what you're talking about, T4's are VW air cooled engines of the 1970's variety as any fule no. :)

T2's are still cute and amusing to me, the cost of running one over a more modern vehicle is not so great and if you factor in depreciation ...

I wouldn't be surpirsed if the rise in value of Bolly paid for all the petrol you ever put in her and most of if not all the parts you bought. :D

  11. mines cost about 10k tops over the last 20 years. Not including fuel of course. £500 a year and its likely id get most of that back.

I agree, I doubt bolly cost me a penny and I'm sure I'm already down on the T5 with the 2,500 vat I had but it's right for us at this point in time. Funny story, I came away this weekend with no tools and had to use a kitchen knife to undo a screw lol happy days.

Are you going to use a Porsche cooling kit from Paul to keep those big cylinders cool?

  14. what about a HUGE signature after every post describing engine components ?

on a serious note .......what this forum misses are decent Mech posts .a decent engine build thread with lots of pics could fill the hole

I'm dipping out and Rob is building it for me. Originally this was because I didn't have time, but when push comes to shove he knows what he's doing and I don't. This one is too much for me despite the simplicity of the idea. It's all machining. :)

  18. I wouldn't be using a stock cam if I were you...

    I know you wouldn't. :)
I'm not trying to squeeze the max out of it, I just want a 2l style engine with a few more beans. It will be interesting if nothing else. I can always change the cam at a later date...

You're wasting your time making it go faster as you'll still need to drive at 55mph so I can keep up when we go camping again. :)

When are we going camping again?
