like Poland? Last entry in Anne Frank's Diary 5th June 1942: Hooray! Today is my Birthday. Uncle Julius has bought me a Trumpet
"She"s in the attic">as was shouted by an audience member at an Anne Frank stage play which was so poorly acted by that bird piera somebody or other whose zillionaire 90 year old husband(she was at the time in her 20"s)he , the audience shouty bloke ,reportedly could not suffer it any more(actually imo ,a 1st world problem)but kinda funny.
if you think that's naughty, you'll be pleased to see that I didn't post this picture alongside @Dickies Poor taste, but very poignant... It seems that there are some subjects we're not supposed to joke about. I heard a report today that certain members of The Taliban, in Pakistan, had been writing Graffiti in blood, using the severed limbs of their victims...how true this is, is open to question, but you can bet your bottom dollar someone will come up with a gag about what was written... When we collectively wince in horror at that terrible mental image, and the sheer atrocity of such an act, it's easy to segregate yourself from the people who perpetrate these actions... We say "How could someone do such a thing? How could they live with themselves? I could never bring myself to commit such a debased, amoral act." The fact is, human history is one long litany of cruelty and heinous behaviour, tempered with acts of love, altruism and tenderness...if we can't joke about it we're truly f*cked... For my money, that Taliban member wrote: "God woz ere"
Shall I drive my bus round? It's beige and would make them fell at home with the Africa Corps in the street.
