I just got back from 2 weeks in Crete - the local filling station near my hotel was selling unleaded 95 at 1.82 Euro!!! Made me actually glad my hire car was a death-trap 3 cylinder Chevrolet Matiz because it went forever on one tank of fuel......
Think it was quoted 60% of fuel prices are tax. When the government dropped the vat back down they sneakily left the tax high on fuel
I was in Florida a few years ago The sh*t hit the fan and people were angry when they had to start paying $2 per GALLON ! I was filling up this huge Chrysler people carrier for about £30
i know the u.s gallon is smaller but even so i wish we paid their prices http://www.usa-vs-uk.com/petrol.html
