Yon wee tube through the fan housing for throttle cable

Ideally you want to trial fit the tube to the flexi before the engine goes in to be sure they mate up nicely and so you know how itll feel when it slots together, bit late now

 

Yeah I'm certain the cable outer has seated propery on the tube and I did check it slots in OK.

As I said , previously the tube ad to be loose and sticking out towards the carb , for the cable to come through far enough.
I wanted to remedy this as it looked crap and surely couldn't be right.

Maybe it is the incorrect cable, not sure if any cables differ in length by an inch (approx length mine WS short by

 

My cable has a solid section for the last couple inches , where the barrel clamp grips.
I do have a new cable here, the solid section is shorter than on the current cable. But maybe the cable is slightly longer overall....

How easy is a throttle cable swap?

Trying to do the minimum as my mot runs out Friday so I want to get it running quick so I can get it motd as its abandoned on road...

 

It's relatively easy if you whip the front belly pan off.
