    Hi all

    This is what i have

i think top banana is ill and unable to do much, but he has told me what i am missing.

    cylinder tin.
    Both back tins
    Both under tins (rare)
    Stove pipes.

has anyone got these? I need to get my engine in asap, and tbr was going to send me all the bits, but now he is ill, he wont be able to get them to me.

I also need the two engine mounting studs and the top left bolt to mount the engine.

This isnt a wanted thread, hence being here, it is a general enquiry to see who has what and if i can pull all of the bits together.

Anyone with parts can PM me.

Im hoping it doesnt come to too much, TBR was going to do all the bits at a ridiculously generous price, but i need to get the engine in, so come what may.

@Paul Weeding you might have some i presume?

    Thanks all.

  2. I have a few pieces... Few being the key word ;)

And I've just raided some for a customers engine as that was minus 4 pieces

Got any of the bits I need?

  4. Might have ;)

Under tins are easy as they're the ones I make in GRP... As for the other bits I'll have a look tomorrow for you

Also, is i t a good idea to start mounting all of the tinware prior to installing the engine? Just think it will be easier for me to get my head around the bits that are missing as i am proper confused - cant visualise where anything goes its just a bunch of shapes to me.

Just dont know what each bit i need looks like really.

Been on partsemporium.co.uk and there are a few bits on there, but not sure what im looking at, and he wants £20 a piece.

Have you got a motor that's built, doesn't matter if it's a runner. If so, build the tinware up on that and compare to one of the diagrams for a type 4!

Worked for me, I'm certain I got all the bits doing it that way

i thought they were the two big ones that the spark plugs poke through?

  14. This shows a nearly full set. Missing the cylinder tins (small ones that go above the push rods), the oil cooler tin, a bit in front of the alternator, and the bit for the warm air feed for the air cleaner. You can see 2 alternator tins, only need 1.

  15. So I think you'll need an alternator tin, the under tins (top middle on my pic ), a cylinder / push rod tin, the pipe's to the blower fan, the oil cooler bit and the rounded bit in front of the alternator.

Sorry to jump on your thread @PSG,
I'm still missing bits on mine. Does anyone know if they are the same for lhd and rhd vans?

  17. Yes, the same.

Westfalia ones are much more expensive.
