Hello All, Was looking for some advice and assistance on fitting a wood headliner to my tin top. found a nice link with a birch liner and would like to do the same. Just wondering if anyone had dimensions/template for the ply and suggestions to the fitting. http://my1969vwmicrobus.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/fitting-my-birch-ply-headlining.html thanks for the help in advance. Killit.
Covering it with material would make it pointless wouldn't it? If you were going to do that I'd just put in a decent head liner. I think they look smart in bare timber.
I used that guide when doing mine & found it spot on. Got the kit from morcambeandwizevw, if you don't fancy cutting your own out. The J channels are easy enough to fix by yourself, but I'd recommend getting someone to help you put the panels up. Put a few coats of light varnish on & love the look of it. I don't think it makes it any colder either.
