Won't tick over with oil bath filter on

Hi everyone
Adjusted the automatic choke to what I thought was the right setting,as the engine was rough when cold but running well when warm, now it struggles to start, ok running but on tickover rough when engine warm, took the air filter off running ok, put it back on and engine starters to fade, ok when air filter off. Hope that makes sense
Any advice would be much appreciated

id check your choke setting

 

Me too if that is the only adjustment you made it seems logical to put it back where it was.

 

Sounds bit like you have an air leak in your carb carefully check around your carb when your engine is running see if any of the tubes suck on your figure when you put it over the end!
