  3. In what way is your gear linkage wonky?

  4. When its in gear the gearstick can be moved in all directions by say about 3 or 4 inches.
    It is worn,most definitely !
Thanks snotty i will check it out.

  5. Rear shift rod to gearbox coupling would be my starting point..... sold seperately to the bush kits.

  6. All good on the gear linkages but my engine room blower fan is the one im stuck with.
Is it possible to open up the locking tabs and check the brushes?

  7. There's no real real reason why the gearshift should be slack: plenty of places to check on the linkage under the van. Usually worn linkage bushes or even loose clamping bolts.

Re the motor: are you saying it doesn't run, even with a power supply to it?

  8. You do know that's it's operated by one of the red heat leveres ?

  9. Yes i am getting power to the 2 pinned plug on the electric motor but it wont turn, seems slightly stiff too!
Its the late bay type not the early type one.what is the relay next to it for?

  10. If turned on at the heater switch, I believe the fan should only operate when the engine's running. The relay should be triggered off the alternator light output. May be an inline fuse somewhere as well. Have you disconnected the motor and connected it directly to the battery to see if it runs? That's the first step.

  11. Aha,i will do that tomorrow!

  12. Fan may be clagged or jamming, which may have made the fuse pop. Try it powered directly first.

Ours runs when the ignitions on and the engines not started - quite noisy too!

  14. Tried it directly to the battery and the fan is dead, there are a few vans in a guys garden just around the corner which are rusting away,he wasnt home but the neighbour says he will sell parts to me.
One of the vans had a rear windscreen wiper and a heated rear window!
Poked my head in the window and i could see the fan im looking for, cool!
Looked like the silencer on one of them would fit mine too.
    Anybody need some parts?
