  1. Hi all

I have posted about this problem before but wanted to sort suspension out first which I have done when the bus goes over 40mph it is all over the place tracking, camber have been set up that's all fine there is play in the steering and if I pull on the drop arm the roller shaft will pull out of the housing about 2mm and while sitting not moving the steering has about 15mm play in it on top of the steering box If I move the steering wheel back and fourth cannot see any play in an thing else. Any ideas Cheers

  4. Slacken the adjusting locknut by a couple of turns and by means of a screwdriver make sure the adjusting screw itself doesn't rotate. Then pull on the drop arm and see if the amount of travel has changed. Its not unknown for the thread in the end plate to be stripped allowing the screw to move in and out of the end plate as the roller shaft moves....all clear as mud. :)

  5. What tyres have you got?
    What pressures are they?

  6. Cheers mate I will give that a go forgot to mention the box is leaking oil around the shaft when it pushes out.

  7. Std mate it was on its arse so I have put it back all Std pressure is sound. They were low profiles on the front before.

  8. Std?
TBH I doubt it. They're not 30+ years old.
    Presuming they're 185-14C? Who's make and load rating. :)

  9. There Bridgestone duravis 185/14 light truck can't find load rating.

  10. Your steering box is fecked
    :)

  11. Not them then, I'm inclined to go with @Joker at this stage.

  12. Just been stripping it out got new arriving in the morning. Managed to get it out but tying to get on the 4 coupling bolts is a pain in the *******er. Cheers for help mate.

  13. New steering box and coupling plate fitted.
Drove to Goth and back all sorted.
