Ha no worries I use tobe miserable and chase money in my work but after my little girl was born it changed my whole life and now I just enjoy each day as it comes. But I always look an see there's someone worse than me especially when we take little one to Great Ormondstreet hospital that makes you think poor things. She ok now ..
Nice work. There looks like a big gap between the bottom of the bulkhead and the napoleons hat section. Make sure you push it backwards so it closes the gap where it meets the ends of the heater channels before you add any more welds otherwise its gonna cause you trouble when you try and plug weld it to the heater channel flange.
Cheers thats only the top part welded still need to weld the inside bits and finish when I lift the body but we'll spotted
Made a start on replacing the lower 6 " of the door piller and seat belt mount rotted away Everyone loves rust
Finally got some time this weekend so did a bit more i can finely start welding the rear together now it's all lined up
Made a start on getting the old fire wall out so I can cut out the rear window shelf out to repair, also need to repair the grill bit up inside the engine bay
You're going to town with this (no change there ). I keep seeing relatively cheap beetle projects for sale that'd be perfect for me. Think I'll aim to get a project in for the end of the year.
I don't know I find it the other way round as you still got to change it to what you want and repair there crap work so in the end still same money if not cheaper and you get what you want ...
Ideally what you need is one thats not been buggered about with by previous 'restorers'. A cheap rotten non messed with car is better than one that looks good on the outside so commands a higher price but is really just a pig with lipstick on.
Had to work this morning so only got the afternoon on it but got the rear seat all in and lined up an welded also finshed rear valance .. then made a start to remove the rear window shelf out to repair the bottom part of it beetles are so much easier quicker to work on
Fitting the big panels always make a massive difference. Its the 10 hours you spend on the tiny patches that will never be seen thats the kicker.
