Looking good. Keep at it We were lucky, our Stig bus didnt need any major chassis work just the top side which made a nice change for a hedge find ;D
wow, one thats actually rustier than mine! some great fabrication there buddy, really looking forward to seeing this resto move along
Here we go again , Just need to weld this side in, then thats the front done ready for floor and front panels will start on the middel parts of the chassie next.
Hi Paradox, no not bonda the paint is for oil rigs ,ships. its got phosphate acid in it and zinc so etch's it self to the metal and stop rust as well good paint £25 .00 for 5 liters.
I used to get similar stuff my dad used to 'borrow' from work when he worked at the port authority. I had a set of bug wheels painted in the stuff that were left in the mud behind the shed out in all weathers for a decade and they are still as new.
Just need to tig weld them together and i think it will be ok Top and bottom made As always run out of time
Thanks every one for your comments ;D But you cant buy them new, and most are rusty so might as well make a new one.
I have to say this new site takes some getting use to. But I have still been busy heater pipe is done, will post pics soon ,when I work out how to he he. But have made start on the roof while I wait to get the front panels.
Nice fabrication skills, despite the ugly duckling first look with the front end falling off, it doesnt look that bad.
Finished the heating pipe, so started on the roof corners, the rest of the roof and gutters are fine. got some rust to cut out and replace with fresh steel
I'm looking forward to this bit - you obviously have the skills to tackle this kind of work. Awesome job so far. If you find the time how about doing a 'How to' section on fabrication, perhaps just a selection of tips you've picked up along the way? I have an uneasy feeling about the rear corner on our bus, there is filler in there somewhere but what's underneath?!...
