Which insulation??

  1. Which insulation have you used in your doors of your van to keep the heat in?

  2. mine has no heat to keep in :(

but, i used sound deadening (silentcoat) on all the panels then some closed cell foam over that. not on the cab doors though as it was a bit too fiddly and was worried about it catching on the winder/ window mechanism.

Bare in mind water pours through the cab doors by design.

  4. Ooh - insulating the cab doors sounds like a good idea. Maybe we'll get the half inch gaps around the doors fixed first, though. And some heating fitted ... :(

(sorry - that wasn't very helpful, was it!)

Use that foil backed bubblewrap "Thermowrap"
It doesnt absorb water so wont cause rust.
Use aluminium tape at the joints.
If you come round to sort your timing you can see mine.

  9. I used flashing tape to reduce the noise. I've recently just fitted laminate and the foam silver backed underlay is amazingly heat reflective. Laying on it you could feel your whole body heat reflecting back. So I will be covering my bus with that.

  10. baa .... I've used the sheeps wool one.

Matty that looks like a nice, simple and elegant solution.

Did you do it yourself and is it glued on?
