You’ll never get an answer. Some will think the best is the cheapest or most expensive, others the ones with the biggest drop, or the least drop. Some believe cast is best others say welded.

And before you make a decision consider what other changes you may have to make to the beam, wheels, tyres and dampers.

For what it’s worth I use 2½” welded drop spindles from Wagenswest, but if there was a spindle with a 2” drop available I would have bought them.

    The best don’t exist.

Before commiting to lowering your bus and whacking on a set of drop spindles, think about where you will be taking your bus. From an earlier thread, you mentioned living around the Buxton area - I know from having our westy lowered on Wagenswest drop spindles that good ole Derbyshire roads and the country lanes to get to good campsites didnt agree with the set up I used.

Do your homework and see what investment you need to get the bus set up nice and driveable.

Rob e has a good write up on his bus thread, he did a thorough job of checking various products out, talking to people and writing up about it:

A good setup doesnt come cheap!

Unless you want to go silly low and open that can of worms I would go down on the beam and keep the bump stops in play, good for 1 outer at the back and level, after that it gets complicated.

  6. Can I add in my experiences on lowering etc? The only bits I have so far broken on my VW are bits VW didn't put on in the first place.

I broke a front beam adjuster on my lowered beam last year, the stance is fab but it nearly cost me a tow home and a weekend in France at Superfest. Don't let me stop you, just go in with a clear head and an open mind about what you're changing and why and what it will impact on the vehicle.

  7. Thankyou everyone will do a bit more research
