I've lived in or near the city for 17 years and found myself following their fortunes and misfortunes as an adopted second team! At one point it was like watching a Spurs second team when Harry was in charge!

  13. I wouldn't care either, being premier league and champions league winners would soften the blow quite considerably

I don't hate Chelsea or anyone else really, I think they and Man City are lucky they got rich owners because without them they'd be more like Everton & Spurs. Yes they both had a little bit of history before the money came but they wouldn't have got up there with the big boys so quickly !
Champions league is the worst thing to happen, it's made finishing 4th acceptable to clubs like Liverpool and Arsenal.

Last season was your best chance to win it, no chance next season playing at Wembley!
I was slightly shocked to learn how long ago it was that Tottenham won it, not even in my lifetime!!
Also surprising how few of the 92 clubs have done so.

That last bit crossed my mind when i was walking the dog at the weekend. I don't think the top 6/7 aim just for CL qualification, but it is a good rung on the ladder to aim at considering how difficult, statistically, the top spot is.

If you're in the lower leagues, your aims are win the league, automatic promotion, play offs... don't get relegated, so why should a CL spot not be an achievement or target?

As a Spurs fan, the progress over 5-6 years since Harry was at the helm has been slow and steady. Yes, CL was probably the target to begin with a few years back, but I doubt after the last two seasons we'll settle for less than challenging for top spot next season - but CL will still be good business :)
