  1. Already had this set up before Arthur's gearbox woes....turned out it was a nice way to forget about all...except I kept counting everything we were spending in terms of parts...1 beer = 2 bushes...could be a new game ;D

We figured Arthur could do with a bit of divine intervention, so we bought him his very own nodding pope...

  7. You lucky things. My wife took me to Rome for my 40th (long time ago now). I'd always wanted to go and never go around to it. Went everywhere over a 4 day break and my feet were falling off - walked everywhere as didnt want to miss a thing.

Had a bit of a wobble at the Vatican (not condusive with a Methodist upbringing!)

Great pictures - last time I was in Rome it rained all the time and every 5 yards someone tried to sell me an umbrella.

    Really irritating

  11. Fantastic photos, thank you so much for sharing! ^-^ I'm desperate to go to Rome but it never seems the right time money wise or time wise :(

Looks like you had a great time and that 3d picture is just mind blowing 8)

  12. Great pics  We were in Rome last May for my 40th, fantastic city.

Did the Guards at the Sistine Chapel not pounce on you for taking pics?? they were 'on it' when we was there.

  13. I had the Swiss Guard confiscate my camera and rip the film out when I tried to take pics at the Sistine Chapel (mind you it was still grimy then and about a hundred years ago!) Fantastic pictures; the colours of the chapel are so clear.

  14. I turned my flash off and just held the camera down by my jeans with the lens facing up...cunning as a fox who's just been appointed Professor of Cunning at Oxford University ;)

  15. I did however have a run in with the Swiss Guard on a previous trip...having had a serious fit of vertigo when I inadvertently stepped out of a lift in St Peter's and realised I was on the walkway at the Dome. Got carried out by 2 of em, and I swear I saw them laughing at me :-[ ::)

Paley took that last rooftop shot - I wasn't going anywhere near any blooming lifts this time!

  16. I got chased out of the Forum too, I was posing on a plinth - they didn't find it funny ;D

  17. So jealous - I've always wanted to visit Rome
    Great pics :D

  18. Wow, Rome is on my list. Imagine me there with a camera in hand?
