  2. Are they not made anymore then? Shame if not as they look quite useful.

Devon did a buddy box with a back that pushed into sockets in the back of the box. The seat back then clipped between the two front seats using the fat sliding bolts like on the hinge out cooker going into holes in each of the two halves of the bulkhead.
So you got a square section tube metal rectangle with legs which slotted down the back of the buddy box.

My bus even has a lap belt fitment for the box.

Contact Rusty Lee, I'm sure he'd make a middle seat to suit ...certainly worth asking him.

  5. No unfortunately not. I did ask Bluebird Customs but they are no longer geared up for them apparently.

I suspect that once you work out the middle seat passenger's skull lines up with the end of the gear stick and the handbrake and the metal dashboard, with only the possibility of a two point lap belt you would realise why nobody sells them any more. If it was fittted before "Clunk-Click Every Trip" times its probably still legal. But as a new fitment .

I removed the seat belt fittings and stowed the other parts in the garage

Also your insurance may only cover you for 4 or 5 people in the bus.

  7. There's a guy on one of the Vw facebook pages, I'm afraid that I can't remember which one at the present, who is planning to remake these.

However Mike makes some very valid points so personally I wouldn't use one.

  8. I saw that one that was on facebook yesterday. Looks like you'd need to drill some holes in the seat backs of the existing seats to fit it, plus as above it only has a lap belt which is not ideal for a front seat passenger..
